The work has always been the same at heart: advising, negotiating, pitching and solving problems and helping creative people and creative material find their right position in a fast-moving industry.

But there is a gap in this industry. Agents speak to their own clients. Everyone else is left to piece the picture together from forums, hearsay and each other. I have watched a great deal of confident misinformation travel that way, particularly about how agents work and what representation actually involves. Careers get shaped by it.

Actors should be able to ask straight questions and get an informed answer, without needing to be represented first. That is what this is for.

I have been asked for this kind of advice for years quietly, informally, usually as a favour. Enough times that it made sense to open the door properly. This work sits around my agency commitments, not in place of them. My clients at WGM come first, always. The consultancy runs in the space that remains, which is why it is offered on a limited basis.
